COUNCILLOR Dave Sim for the Dearne North Ward has sadly passed away.
Leader of Barnsley Council, Coun Stephen Houghton said: "Councillor Dave Sim, despite only being on the authority for a short period of time, impressed everyone with his dedication and commitment to the role and particularly the championing of the Dearne Valley and Thurnscoe.
“Dave had a dry sense of humour and was well respected and regarded by his colleagues here on the council. He will be greatly missed by ourselves and I am sure his family and friends; and I offer my sincere condolences to them."
