A Thurnscoe driver has been charged by police after testing positive for cannabis.

Michael Allington, 22, of Windsor Street, was stopped by officers on Doncaster Road in Goldthorpe on March 6.

He was suspected to be under the influence of drugs and tested positive for cannabis at the roadside.

Allington was arrested and taken to the police station where he provided a blood sample. His blood test revealed he was three times over the limit for cannabis.

The 22-year-old was charged with driving over the prescribed limit and driving while unfit through drugs and will appear at magistrates' court on Wednesday (May 20).
