A WAR hero needs to raise at least £45,000 for lifesaving treatment.

Jason Evans, 44, of Mulberry Close, Goldthorpe, was diagnosed with a brain tumour five years ago.

He has had treatment to reduce the size of the tumour twice but the Evans family were told in January that cancerous cells were back.

The family see a trip abroad for proton beam therapy as being their last chance and hope to raise enough money to make it happen.

Jason's wife Verona said: "I think that if he doesn't get this treatment we could only have 12 months to two years left."

Brampton Juniors football club raised around £600 recently. The family also have a just giving page at justgiving.com/jasonsjourney where people can donate.
