WORK has started to build 25 affordable rented homes at Aldham House Lane in Wombwell.
The £2.2million development by Leeds and Yorkshire Housing Association will create 20 bungalows and five houses, with either one or two bedrooms.
As well as providing much needed new homes, several of the bungalows are being built to support customers with mobility issues.
Termrim Construction Limited from Huddersfield have committed to using local labour for the build.
The homes should be available to rent by March 2016.
