FIREFIGHTERS were called to a home at Chaloner Heights in Blacker Hill last night, after a BBQ spread to decking and then to the house and garage.

The homeowners were already safely out of the building when the four fire crews arrived.

Firefighters used hose reels to put the fire out and rescued three dogs from the house.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have urged residents to make sure their BBQs are well away from sheds, fences, trees and shrubs.
