GENEROUS Barnsley folk have been digging deep to give hope and inspiration to a terminally ill mum.
Alex Cole Swann, 32, of Smithies, is fighting cancer and is aiming to raise £250,000 to pay for pioneering new treatment.
Within hours of the story of Alex's 'Quest for Life' being published, people in Barnsley and beyond were backing the campaign by making a donation.
The total so far stands at an incredible £37,500.
Her husband Nathan, a self-employed plumber, said: "It's been brilliant, we just can't believe it. And it's not only Barnsley, one person in Dubai has even donated £5,000.
"It means so much to Alex and all of us. Every time we raise £25,000 it's another treatment and another milestone. It's just incredible, we feel blown away."
