A CCTV image has been released after a man claimed to have a gun in Barnsley Interchange.

British Transport Police officers want to speak to him about the incident, which happened at 6pm on March 17.

PC Mark Mason said: "A man on platform one approached members of the public claiming to have a gun in his bag.

"The man left the station shortly afterwards, making his way towards a nearby supermarket.

"No weapon was seen, but his behaviour worried several people at the station and we would like to trace him."

Officers have spoken to people who were on the platform at the time of the incident, and reviewed CCTV footage from the station.
