A PUB is set to be demolished to make way for flats after planning approval was given by Barnsley Council.

The Coach and Horses Inn, on Church Street, Jump, will be replaced with nine flats.

In supporting documents, architects Hockey Architectural say that 'the public house is currently not in business and has been closed for some time due to a lack of business and no foreseeable future as a public house'.

It also states that replacing the pub, closed since August last year, would be beneficial to local housing stock and provide 'affordable housing'.
