HARBOROUGH Hill Road has been closed off twice in a week following threats of suicide.
Initially closed to traffic and pedestrians on Thursday evening, the same cordon had to be put in place on Saturday evening.
Police teams successfully spoke to the person and the road was reopened a short time after on both occasions.
A spokesperson said: "At 7.25pm on April 11, police responded to reports that a 17-year-old girl was sitting on the bridge on Harborough Hill Road in Barnsley.
"Officers spoke to the girl, who was sitting on the wrong side of the railings, and she was taken to a place of safety."
