POLICE have appealed for information after two petrol station robberies in Barnsley.

The first incident took place at around 10.15pm on Friday 3 April, when it is reported that a man with his face covered entered a garage in Barnsley Road, Wath.

He threatened staff with what is believed to be a hammer and fled the scene with a quantity of money and cigarettes.

Another robbery was reported to police at 9.15pm on April 7 at Cathill Services in Doncaster Road, Darfield.

A man with his face covered carrying what is believed to be a hammer and a knife threatened staff. He stole money and cigarettes.

Nobody was injured during any of the incidents but staff were left shaken.

Detectives are following a number of lines of enquiry and believe the incidents to be linked.They would like to speak to witnesses or anyone with information about any of the robberies.
