MORE than 20 NHS dentists across the borough are now taking on new patients as it emerges that Barnsley has improved its statistics for dental care. Roughly 148,000 people in Barnsley visited an NHS dentist in the last two years with 64 per cent of locals going for check ups - a higher rate that some surrounding boroughs.

Dr Renu Bindra of NHS Barnsley said: “Good oral health is clearly very important which is why we are delighted to see so many more people now choosing to visit a dentist.”
