BARNSLEY police and Barnsley Hospital will be tweeting their activities online over a 12 hour stretch to show the community the demand placed on emergency services.
The campaign will run from 12noon on Good Friday until midnight and will profile police activity during the Barnsley match as well as hospital incidents, police calls and officers covering cells.
A spokesperson from the hospital said: “Working together with the police will show how demands on emergency services may often be two-fold. It is not uncommon for a police incident to result in a member of the public attending A&E.
“Our tweets will not identify patients but we hope they will give a good insight to the numbers of people attending and the variety of conditions we see.”
You can follow the tweets on Twitter using the #Barnsley999 hashtag or go to the home page of We Are Barnsley where we have arranged for them to be pulled in to the Twitter box on our homepage.
