THIEVES have stolen valuable stones from a boundary wall at Barnsley Hospital.

The authorities are now asking for help from the public in trying to track down the culprits, who drove away with around £1,500 worth of stone.

They want to hear from anyone who was in the area of Pogmoor Road near to the junction of Winter Road during the morning of February 13 between 5.30am and 6.30am.

Around 30 yards of stone toppings were stolen from the hospital's wall on Pogmoor Road.

Two vehicles - a Mercedes van and a Ford Focus - were seen parked near to where the theft took place.
