POLICE still want to hear from witnesses to a collision that saw a seven-year-old boy taken to hospital with head and leg injuries.
The boy was struck by a man riding a black Aprilia scooter on Merrill Road, Thurnscoe, close to the junction of Beechlea on January 27 at around 7.10pm.
The boy had got out of a silver Toyota taxi before being hit and was treated at both Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Sheffield Children's Hospital, but is now recovering at home.
PC Steve Zielinski said: "It was an extremely traumatic experience for the young boy.
"He is back home now and is on the mend. His injuries were not as bad as first thought.
"The scooter rider correctly stopped at the scene. It was a very unfortunate incident for all concerned but we would like more information about how the scooter was being ridden prior to the incident."
People with information are asked to call 101 and quote incident number 787 of January 27.
