A BUDDING Barnsley racer is making a name for himself on the competitive karting scene.
Adam Batty, 14, from Darfield, came first in both the South Yorkshire Kart Club and the Northern Karting Federation's (NKF) championships.
Adam's mum, Julie, said he even delayed joining the family on holiday so he could take part in the NKF race.
The proud 47-year-old added: "My heart's in my mouth as I watch him race, as a mum it's really difficult to watch but I do want him to win."
