FORMER boxing champion Ricky Hatton visited Barnsley on Saturday night.
Hundreds of people turned up at Dodworth's Holiday Inn to listen to the two-weight world champion's story, organised by MDG Events.
The Mancunian, who was adored by a legion of fans during a stellar career which saw 45 wins in a 48 fights, only lost to pound-for-pound kings Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, and finally Vyacheslav Senchenko.
Daniel Osborne, director of MDG, said: "There was a huge crowd. It was an honour to host such a sporting icon - all the crowd were singing there's only one Ricky Hatton!"
Nigel Benn is the next former boxing superstar to visit the town on April 30.
