THE Reds' topsy-turvy form continued last night with a home defeat against Fleetwood.

After Saturday's defeat against high-flying Swindon, Danny Wilson's side went up against the Cod Army in good spirits having won four on the bounce at Oakwell.

Having won against Leyton Orient, Yeovil, Port Vale and Oldham, Barnsley's form continued and Peter Ramage opened the scoring early on to get the Reds off to the best possible start.

However their lead turned out to be short lived, with Conor McLaughlin levelling things up before the quarter-hour mark.

The visitors struck the decisive blow when Liam McAlinden, on loan from Wolves, sealed the victory with a 33rd-minute tap-in.

The Reds' next four games are set to be crucial with Crawley, Crewe, Scunthorpe and Gillingham all close by in the League One standings.

Danny Wilson said: "I felt we started being a bit jittery. We've just lost away at Swindon last week and again at home. The inconsistency's there to be seen.

"What the fans want is consistency and it's what we want. I have to say it's never going to be easy to get that consistency. We'll have to wait and be patient."
