A WOMAN was taken to hospital following an alleged assault early on Sunday morning.
Police were called to reports of an assault on Tower Street, Barnsley, at 5.45am.
A woman was allegedly assaulted on the street. She was taken to hospital suffering a head injury.
Detectives are investigating the incident and initial enquiries are underway.
