POLICE have issued a warning after a man conned his way in to a pensioner's house and stole £300.

Inspector Julie Mitchell said the incident took place on Thursday afternoon in Gilroyd. The man conned his way into the house of an elderly, disabled person pretending to be from the water board.

He was wearing a black longsleeved sweatshirt with a pale blue logo on the left side chest, and had a non-local accent.

Insp Mitchell added: "Please remind elderly relatives - Not expected? Not known? No entry."

Ring 101 with any information to identify him.
