HEAVY snow has been predicted to fall in Barnsley tonight and tomorrow.

In what could be a repeat of last week, the forecast has prompted the Met Office to issue a yellow warning for the town from 8am today until midnight tomorrow.

A spokesperson said: "Showers are expected to turn to snow across parts of northern Scotland during Wednesday morning, the risk then transferring to other areas through the rest of the day, continuing overnight and for much of Thursday.

"The public should be aware of the potential for disruption to travel."
