MOTORISTS have been advised that major roadworks will begin on Saturday.
The works, on A6195 Engine Lane, Shafton, will be carried out under a road closure between Ferry Moor roundabout and Collier Road over three consecutive weekends.
Traffic will be diverted with a signed diversion via High Street, Brierley Road, Church Street and Barnsley Road.
Engine Lane will be closed from midday on Saturday January 24 to 5am on Monday, and will follow the same closures on the two following weekends.
The works, carried out by Barnsley Council, will include road resurfacing and reconstruction.
Access to properties will be maintained throughout the duration of the works and every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.
