MUSIC equipment worth £5,000 has been stolen from a Barnsley church.
Police are appealing to the public following the burglary at a Sunday school hall in Darton where heartless thieves struck.
The couple who run an evening music class at the Church Street building discovered the theft on January 10 when they attended in the morning.
The burglary is believed to have been committed between 8pm on January 9 and 7.20am the next day.
The equipment stolen included a Yamaha mixing deck, a Shure microphone, American DJ disco lights and Yamaha speakers, with an estimated value of all the items totalling £5,000, which the couple will have to replace themselves.
Police are appealing to anyone who may be offered for sale this type of equipment, or anyone who has any information, to please call 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 224 of January 10.
