POLICE have appealed for witnesses following the attempted robbery of a woman in Barnsley town centre.
At around 5.25pm on January 6, it's reported that a 38-year-old woman was walking through the underpass at the Alhambra roundabout in the town centre when two unknown men reportedly approached her.
It's believed that the men, who were wearing balaclavas, made gestures towards the woman while trying to grab her bag.
It's reported that the men then walked away from the scene quickly, as though they had changed their minds.
The men are described as being around 6ft tall, white, of slim build and wearing dark clothing. Both were wearing balaclavas and one of the men is described as having a blonde tuft of hair sticking through the eyepiece.
Anyone with information should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 144 of January 8, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
