POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a multi-vehicle collision in Barnsley earlier this week which left a 75-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.

At around 4pm on January 5, it's reported that a red Jaguar XJS was in collision with a white DAF lorry in Broadway, Barnsley, at the junction with Woodland Drive.

It's believed that the lorry was then in collision with a further two vehicles, a blue Peugeot 206 and a white Ford Transit.

The driver of the Jaguar, a 75-year-old man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he remains in a critical condition.

Witnesses to the collision should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 591 of January 5.
