BARNSLEY boss Danny Wilson is hopeful the club will bring in new players early in the January transfer window.

Chelsea youngster Alex Kiwomya has already joined the Reds on loan for an initial one-month period, with Peter Ramage also extending his stay at Oakwell until the summer.

Striker Kiwomya, a youth international with England, has been a regular for Chelsea's under 21s since he was 15.

Wilson said: "We’d like to do our business early in January and so, hopefully, there’ll be a couple of things on the table to see in the next week.

"The most difficult thing is actually getting the players to your club. It's a waiting game and you have to have so much patience.

"The ones that will be this week will be loan moves. We’ve put one or two things permanent to certain clubs and we’re just waiting for a response on that front."
