A BARNSLEY couple have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary!
Harry and Gladys Hampshire, from Monk Bretton, had their platinum anniversary on Boxing Day.
The couple were married at St Luke's Church in Worsbrough Common in 1944.
They first met when Gladys was working at a fish shop when she was 14 and Harry was aged 16.
They courted and four years later the couple were married and went on to have five children - Carol, Philip, Julia, Paul and the late Barry.
Gladys, 88, and Harry, 90, were joined by family and friends at their party at the Full House pub.
Harry, when asked what their secret to a long and happy married life was, said simply: "It's because we have always loved each other."
