MORE than £1,500 was raised at a raffle held by a support group for anyone who has been through cancer.
The Barnsley Cancer Aftercare group was set up 27 years ago by Cynthia Megginson and Lorrain Kelly who both had breast cancer.
At the Christmas raffle a total of £1,653 was raised and about 40 prizes were distributed to members. Cynthia said it was a "fantastic" amount.
The group provides support, help and advice to others who have been through the same thing, and their families and carers.
The money will be used to fund group activities such as trips to the seaside, therapist sessions and hire of the Lamproom for the pantomime every year.
