MORE than 350 people have donated items and their time to help the homeless this Christmas.
Barnsley man Adie Flute, from Barugh Green, read about The Rucksack Project last year and decided to help out in his home town.
Last year's success - which saw over 100 full rucksacks donated - has seen Adie come back to help out the town's more unfortunate residents once again.
He said: "We're asking that everyone gets their packs ready for December 18 and hands them in at the Barnsley Churches Drop-In Project on John Street.
"We're putting on two sessions at 5 and 6pm so you can give your pack to someone who is truly in need of your help.
"The event now has an incredible 350 people pledging to do something whether it's dropping off the odd item or making up a whole pack and coming along on the 18th.
"We have also received a fantastic boost from the Unison and GMB unions who have drummed up £200 each with which they're going to collectively buy 20 sleeping bags."
