IMAGINE swimming in a lake every morning. That's exactly what a Darton woman is doing to train for a swim across the English Channel.
Shelby Donoghue, 39, visits Harthill Lake in Rotherham before going to work at her shop, Top Wools, in the Arcade.
"It's very cold but once I'm in it's really exhilarating and sets you up for the rest of the day," she said.
"Swimming the Channel is something I've always wanted to do, ever since I was little. I've recently got into open water swimming and have been doing quite a lot of marathon and long distance swimming."
She chose the charity Aspire, which supports people with spinal injuries, because her mother-in-law needed a wheelchair after a couple of serious strokes.
Shelby will be one of six swimmers to tackle the swim in August. They're hoping to raise £10,000.
