RESIDENTS have described watching youngsters as young as 13 taking drugs using plastic pop bottles and bags.

Correspondence shared by MP Dan Jarvis has shown how people complain they're facing a constant battle with youths gathering behind shops on Sheffield Road to drink, take drugs and be violent.

Elderly residents in the area described feeling 'unsettled' by the behaviour.

Other concerns were raised about the youngsters urinating and vomiting.

Some people called for the Smokey Sam's shop, which was at the centre of a row over legal highs, to be closed down.

Mr Jarvis, who has campaigned to ban legal highs, said: "Anti-social behaviour is generally the number one issue people come to me about.

"Working with local councillors and the police, I shall try to ensure we have neighbourhoods we can be proud of."
