A CHRISTMAS market with a twist is coming to Elsecar this weekend - which features real life elves and the chance to win a ride on the Santa Steam Train.
Saturday and Sunday's event features almost 70 stalls crammed full of the best local hand-crafters selling wares that range from jewellery to home textiles, bags to scented candles.
There will be a bead bar for children who can sit and make a bracelet as well as the chance to make your own gingerbread man balloon.
There will also be a team of elves helping children write letters to Santa.
It is the fourth year Script Craft Events has appeared at Elsecar Heritage Centre for the Christmas market.
Organiser Lucy Dickinson said: "We wanted to be a bit different and stand out, and make it more than just an event where you can do your Christmas shopping.
"We've tried to make it as festive as possible and so there's lots of entertainment for the kids as well."
The elves are being provided by local company CopyCat Costumes and Fancy Dress with an impressive balloon decor display by The Balloon Bug.
Copycat owner Laura Davies said: "We are extremely proud to be working on what we are sure will become a standout Christmas event this year and one that will repeat for years to come."
The event is in Building 21 at the Elsecar Heritage Centre, on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm.
