A TEENAGER has vowed to fight cancer for a second time after finding out about its return.

Daniel Binney, 19, of Queen's Drive, Dodworth, had been cancer-free for two-and-a-half years but received the devastating news during a routine scan that the cancer, called osteosarcoma, had returned.

His mother Trish, 45, said: "Daniel was a bit upset when we were told but he just wants to get on with it.

"The secondary tumour is on his lung, rather than in it, but they're going to operate on it.

"At the moment he doesn't have to have any chemotherapy because there's only one tumour.

"I'm devastated, but I've just got to stay strong for him and be there for him when he needs me."

The operation is scheduled for early December and Trish is hoping Daniel will be well enough to celebrate Christmas.

The operation involves collapsing Daniel's lung, He will then be fitted with two tubes for 48 hours to allow him to breathe and eat.
