HOMEGROWN TV star Sam Nixon treated members of Barnsley Youth Choir to a behind-the-scenes look at the BBC.
Sam, who was born in Monk Bretton, has forged a successful career in kids' TV after appearing on Pop Idol with sidekick Mark Rhodes in 2003.
Following the choir's amazing success at the World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia, this summer, a small group was able to attend the BBC filming Sam and Mark’s Big Friday Wind-Up show at Media City in Manchester.
The popular pair welcomed the world champions backstage and passed on their best wishes and congratulations.
Choir member Sophie, 12, said: "I was so excited to go and see Sam and Mark filming their new show. I really liked the way that the boys involved the audience.
"It's so nice to see how someone from Barnsley can be successful - it just takes hard work and dedication."
