A MAN has been arrested for failing to stop following a crash which left a motorist fighting for their life.

The two-car collision, which happened in Carlton, Barnsley, in the early hours of Sunday, involved a blue Audi A4 and a black Audi A4.

It happened near to the junction of Lindhurst Road at around 12.05am.

A 32-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries and is currently in hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the other car, a 26-year-old Barnsley man, was uninjured. He has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop/report a road traffic collision.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash, or to anyone who saw either vehicle in the lead-up to the collision.
