POLICE investigating a stabbing in Barnsley have named the man they believe was responsible.

They have warned members of the public not to approach 29-year-old Steven Watkins, who is suspected of being responsible for the assault on September 28.

A 33-year-old man was left with serious injuries after the attack on Houghton Road, Thurnscoe.

A spokesperson said: "Anyone with information about his current whereabouts should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 510 of November 13.

"Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
