RESIDENTS' objections to an approved traveller site has forced the council to re-think its decision.
Plans for the 11-pitch site at Grange Lane, Stairfoot, will now be referred back to the council's planning board for a second consideration later this month.
The council confirmed the plans will be reviewed again after a number of objections were submitted by residents who argued they had not been given enough time to submit their views before the meeting last month.
A spokesman said: "These objections have been discussed with the chairman of the planning board and senior management and it has been agreed that it will be represented at the next planning board meeting on November 18."
The site will be run and managed by the council as an 'emergency stopping place', which gypsies and travellers will be able to use for a maximum of 14 days.
