A LOCAL charity which provided free access and tuition to computers has closed its doors.
Oaks Millennium Technology Initiative (OMTI), which was based on Farm Road, Kendray, closed on November 6 due to a lack of funding.
OMTI provided a free drop-in service every afternoon from 1pm to 5pm. It was open to everyone eight years and above.
They also delivered ten to 15 tutor-led courses per quarter on a variety of computer subjects.
Since March, they have continued on a voluntary basis to provide a service for the local people.
Mark Holland, manager at OMTI, said: "It's with great regret and sadness that OMTI closed its doors to the public for the last time at 5.30pm on November 6.
"We have had to make this decision because of the difficulty in generating sustainable income or grant funding to cover the costs of running the building and operating the computers."
