BARNSLEY'S mobile library service is under threat.
Local folk have been urged to share their views with the council, who plan to axe the service and replace it with a home delivery-style scheme.
Coun Jenny Platts, cabinet spokesperson, said: "We're facing a big challenge as we look to save a further £28 million from our budget.
"In order to meet this, we need to save £100,000 from the library service and we're suggesting we do this by stopping the mobile library."
People can take part in the consultation by picking up papers from the mobile library, or on the council's website at consult.barnsley.gov.uk/portal.
