POLICE have asked for the public’s assistance after £75,000 of damage was caused to a block of flats in a suspected arson attack.
On October 4 at approximately 11.30pm, forced entry was gained through a shutter door into the underground car park below the flats on Barnsley Road, Goldthorpe.
There were two cars parked in the car park and a fire was started in one of the vehicles before the shutter door then closed.
About a dozen residents were forced to flee.
