BARNSLEY'S industrial heritage will inspire two new prominent public artworks for the town centre.
Part of the council’s public art programme, the pieces - by Tim Ward and 154 Collective - are being funded by money from developers which has to be spent on projects that enrich the local area.
The finished pieces of work will celebrate Barnsley’s industrial heritage such as the glassworks, linen or canister industries.
Coun Roy Miller, cabinet spokesperson for place, said: "If anyone has old photographs from working in the glassworks, linen or canister industries, personal memories or stories that you wish to share along with future aspirations for Barnsley then there’s an opportunity to share them with us."
