A NEW pound shop will open in Barnsley this week.
Poundworld will open on Peel Street at 10am on Thursday.
The Yorkshire-based company was launched in 2004 after rebranding and now has over 180 stores nationwide.
Around 30 new jobs have been created by the store's opening.
Chris Edwards Jr, trading director at Poundworld, said: "We’re delighted to be opening our very first store in Barnsley. Peel Street is in a fantastic location.
"We believe the new Poundworld store will be very well received by savvy shoppers in the town."
