A SCHOOL has received a glowing report from Ofsted inspectors.

Goldthorpe Primary has been rated 'good', the second highest of the four grades the education watchdog can give.

This had improved from only 'satisfactory' when it was last inspected four years ago.

The report says: "From their starting points, almost all pupils make good progress throughout the school and achieve well in reading, writing and mathematics.

"By the end of year six, the standards attained by pupils in reading, writing and mathematics are average and improving. This is because the quality of teaching is improving.

"Pupils are extremely polite and well-mannered to each other and to adults."
