AN ambitious 11-year-old cyclist has completed a 96-mile ride as he prepares for a coast-to-coast challenge in the UK.

Schoolboy Joe Rowe, 11, pedalled from his home in Penistone to the Humber Bridge with dad John.

It acts as a sort of training ride before the pair attempt a cross-country pedal in aid of charity next year.

The Millhouse Green Primary pupil, of Chauntry Avenue, also has one eye on the future and hopes to cycle across the USA when he turns 18.

Proud mum Michaela said: "The more I've spoken to people about it, the more it's dawned on me that it's a big achievement.

"His dad's a cyclist and Joe's just getting into it."
