BARNSLEY Hospital’s stoma care team are hosting an open day for patients and families on Thursday.
The event, at The Fairway, Elmhirst Lane, Dodworth, starts at 10am and goes on until 2pm.
People will be able to chat to nurse specialists in stoma care, receive advice on their lifestyle and look at products to support them.
Jane Parker, colorectal nurse, said: "Coming to terms with having a stoma and looking after it properly can be a difficult and life-changing task.
"There are an increasing number of products and services now available for stoma patients to help make life easier.
"The open day will allow people to come along and meet our stoma care team, as well as see what advances there have been in the products available."
There will be complimentary therapies on offer as well as a raffle and buffet lunch.
