A TEENAGE boy sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car which allegedly failed to stop.
The 16-year-old is in hospital following the collision in Thurnscoe at around 10.10pm on Wednesday night.
It is reported that the boy was with a 15-year-old girl, walking along Barrowfield Road towards Thurnscoe.
It is thought that an unknown car, believed to be travelling along Barrowfield Road towards Bolton-on-Dearne, came into collision with the two pedestrians.
It is alleged that the vehicle did not stop at the scene.
The vehicle is believed to a dark-coloured small car, possibly a hatchback. The car may have some damage.
