THREE council workers will be sleeping on Barnsley Town Hall's steps to raise awareness for cancer sufferers.
It's all part of the Macmillan Barnsley Appeal - the Big Barnsley Sleep Out.
Julie Bellis, Julie Horsfield and Julie Marshall all work as Barnsley Council’s welfare rights advisors, and as part of their roles they provide free, confidential and impartial service to enable residents who are diagnosed with cancer receive the maximum benefits they're entitled to.
Julie said: "Every day we’re speaking to people who are affected by cancer and are dealing with the additional stresses of keeping on top of their bills, unaware of what financial support is available.
"We want to raise money to help keep vital services in place and make homelessness due to cancer a thing of the past."
The three Julies will be sleeping out from 8pm on Tuesday to 8am on Wednesday.
