A SCHOOL that has been flooded three times in the past 12 months will not open in time for the new term.

Staff and parents at Dodworth St John's have been spending hours at the Barnsley Road school in a bid to clear it of flood water.

Headteacher Ian Goddard has written to parents explaining the school will not be open to children until September 8.

He said: "We understand that this course of action will cause a great deal of inconvenience to all families, however we have no option and we have done everything possible."
