MORE than 5,000 bin collections have been missed in Barnsley.
A report measuring the council's performance showed 5,338 were missed in the first quarter of the authority's 2014/15 plan, although the figure is considered "artificially high" due to the new recycling scheme.
The report said: "The significant increase in the number is a direct result of the changes made to the recycling services.
"The issues have been addressed and number should return to normal during the second and third quarters."
