A BARNSLEY man who allegedly threatened a shop's staff with a firearm has been charged following a robbery last Friday.

Mitch Parkinson, 23, of Briton Square, Thurnscoe, appeared at Barnsley Magistrates' Court today (Thursday) and has been remanded into custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on August 21.

It's alleged he entered a convenience store in Lorne Road, Thurnscoe, just before 2pm and threatened staff with a firearm before getting away with a till.
