ALMOST 200 houses are set to be built on a former school site.

An application for 198 dwellings on the Priory School site at Lundwood has been submitted to the council by Harron Homes.

Plans include a new access road from Littleworth Lane, together with an open green space and pond to control flooding.

The school - which was closed in December 2011 - is now vacant and previous school buildings have been cleared.

The application states there will be a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses and 12 different house, ranging from a two-bedroom terraced house with parking spaces up to a detached property with an integral garage.
